Insurance & Protection

Life, critical illness, income protection and key-person cover placed for expatriates and cross-border families.

Overview

Protection is the part of a wealth plan that only matters once, and only if it was arranged correctly beforehand. For cross-border families the usual failure is a domestic policy that stops paying, stops being valid, or cannot be maintained after a move — leaving the family uninsured at precisely the point the plan assumed cover.

ASJ Group arranges portable international life, critical-illness, income-protection and medical cover that follows the client between countries, alongside corporate cover: key-person, shareholder and partnership protection for owner-managed businesses.

Where cover exists to pay a future tax or buy-out liability, it is written in trust or held by the appropriate structure so the proceeds land outside the estate and reach the right party quickly. Sums assured are derived from the modelling, not from a product target.

Frequently asked

Questions we hear on every intake call.

Will my existing policy still pay if I move abroad?
Not always. Many domestic policies restrict residence, travel or occupation. We check the wording of what you already hold before recommending anything new.
Why write a policy in trust?
Proceeds held in trust generally fall outside the estate, avoid probate delay and reach beneficiaries quickly — which matters most when the payout exists to settle a tax bill.
Do you take commission on insurance?
Insurance is part of the wealth-management engagement, which is funded through the products we recommend. Where an insurer pays commission, the amount is disclosed in writing and offset in your favour.
What is key-person cover?
Cover owned by a company on an individual whose loss would materially damage it, paying the business a sum to fund recruitment, lost profit or loan repayment.

Every engagement begins with a director — not a junior, not a chatbot. Fixed fees, quoted in writing, before any work begins.
