Every question we're asked.
If your question isn't here, it should be — send it over and we'll answer publicly (or privately, if you'd prefer).
Who owns the firm?
+
The firm is owned by its directors. There is no private-equity backer, no white-label parent, and no third party with a financial interest in your file.
Are you regulated?
+
No. ASJ Group is not a regulated firm. We are an advisory and structuring practice. Where a matter requires regulated advice — for example pension transfers, insurance or investment management — we coordinate with appropriately authorised third parties and disclose them to you before anything is implemented.
Where do you work?
+
Across 60+ jurisdictions. Directors sit in Hong Kong, London, Dubai and Singapore. Files can be run in any timezone.
Do you take commissions from banks, trustees or introducers?
+
No. Every referral is priced to you and to nobody else. If a counterparty offers a rebate we decline it in writing — it is a stated firm policy, not a preference.
What does an engagement look like?
+
A short scoping call. A written fee proposal within five business days. A signed engagement letter. Work begins the day the deposit clears and CDD is complete.
How do you charge?
+
Fixed fees, written upfront. No hourly billing. No surprise invoices. Retainers scoped separately for ongoing work.
What is the minimum engagement?
+
A fixed-fee diagnosis from £1,500. Anything below that is a phone call — free, and often the right answer.
How long do things take?
+
Entity formations: 3–20 business days depending on the jurisdiction. Bank onboarding: 4–14 weeks. Licences: 5–18 months. We commit to timelines in the engagement letter.
Do you accept every client?
+
No. We decline where the file cannot be run cleanly, where sanctions or reputation risk exist, or where a client wants an outcome the rules do not permit. This is why the first call is genuinely free.
What CDD do you require?
+
FATF-aligned CDD: certified ID, proof of address, source of funds, source of wealth, and structure charts for any entities. We retain files for 30 years.
Is my file confidential?
+
Yes. Director-only access, encrypted at rest, no cloud AI processing of client data. Confidentiality is written into every engagement letter.
Do you report to tax authorities?
+
Where the law requires — CRS, FATCA, DAC8, UBO registers — yes, without exception. We help you comply; we do not help you hide.
Can you help with a matter that's already gone wrong?
+
Often, yes. Remediation is a specialism: bank exit notices, filing backlogs, structure clean-ups ahead of a sale or audit. Call before it escalates.
Can you guarantee a bank account?
+
No serious firm can. What we can do is submit files banks are willing to onboard — 25+ corporate banking partners, live appetite tracked weekly, honest 'this bank won't take you' calls up front.
Which banks do you work with?
+
Named privately during engagement. Publishing bank names attracts the wrong applicants and burns relationships.
Do you handle personal banking?
+
Private banking — Singapore, Hong Kong, Monaco, Switzerland — yes. Retail current accounts, no.
What is 'offshore' in 2026?
+
A structure that is legal, disclosed to every relevant authority, and built for a defined commercial reason. Anything else is a liability, not a plan.
Which jurisdiction is best?
+
There isn't a 'best' — there is one that fits your commercial reality, your tax residence, your banking needs and your reporting obligations. That is the entire scope of our first call.
Can you help with US persons?
+
Yes, with US counsel in the loop. US tax and reporting overlays every offshore decision for a US person — we insist on qualified US advice alongside our work.
Do you sell citizenship?
+
No. We advise on the 14 government-approved CBI programmes and dozens of residency routes, and we run the application. Fees are paid to the government and to us — not to a broker.
How quickly can I change tax residency?
+
Legally, it depends on the country you're leaving. Some allow same-day departure. Others (like the UK) apply statutory tests over multiple tax years. We map both sides.
